The expert team from the Geological Heritage Research Center of China University of Geosciences (Beijing) went to Zhijindong Cave Global Geopark for inspection and guidance

On August 29th, Professor Wu Fadong from the Geological Heritage Research Center of China University of Geosciences (Beijing) and his technical team of four people visited the Zhijindong Cave Global Geopark for an investigation. An Taimin, the Party Secretary of Zhijindong Cave Administration Bureau, Li Yi, the Director, and Zhang Jun, the Deputy Director, accompanied the inspection.

Professor Wu Fadong and his team visited the park's underground Heavenly Palace, Grand Canyon and other areas, as well as the tourist service center, aerospace museum, smart tourism and other service facilities, and gained a detailed understanding of the park's geological landforms, geological relic protection facilities and infrastructure operation. During the inspection, in-depth discussions were held on the protection of geological relics, geological tourism, science popularization and study Tours, paleontological trace fossils, and the re-evaluation of world geoparks. Consensus was also reached on the next steps for both sides to carry out scientific research cooperation and promote the protection and development of world geoparks.

After the inspection, the two sides also held a symposium to further exchange views on related scientific research cooperation and other matters. The expert team highly recognized the current work of the Zhijindong Cave Global Geopark and at the same time provided constructive and valuable suggestions for the re-evaluation and future management of the Zhijindong Cave Global Geopark.
