On May 21st, the 2022 Science and Technology Week science popularization activity of the Zhijindong Cave Land and Resources Science Popularization Base was launched at the Zhijindong Cave Museum. Some tourists visiting Zhijindong Cave attended the opening ceremony of the event.
The year 2022 marks the convening of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the beginning of a new journey towards the second centenary goal, the start of the implementation of the revised Law of the People's Republic of China on Promoting Scientific and Technological Progress, and the 20th anniversary of the promulgation and implementation of the Law on Popular Science. Extensive publicity of the Law on Promoting Scientific and Technological Progress and the Law on Popular Science is of great significance for unswervingly following the path of socialist legal system with Chinese characteristics and advancing the modernization of the national governance system and governance capacity. To widely publicize the achievements of scientific and technological innovation and carry out science popularization activities benefiting the people, the Zhijindong Cave Land and Resources Science Popularization Base, under the organization and leadership of the Provincial Department of Natural Resources, has launched a series of activities during this Science and Technology Week.
It is learned that the theme of this Science and Technology Week is "Entering Science and Technology, You and I Walk Together", and the event will last until May 28th. During the activity period, in addition to promoting the "Law of the People's Republic of China on Promoting Scientific and Technological Progress" and the "Law of the People's Republic of China on Popularizing Science and Technology" through multiple channels, the Zhijindong Cave Land and Resources Science Popularization Base will also carry out a series of science popularization activities such as science popularization in communities and schools in collaboration with the surrounding villages. Organize science popularization volunteers to go deep into communities and schools to carry out a variety of knowledge quiz competitions and science and technology practice activities on the geological knowledge of Zhijindong Cave (such as karstology, geomorphology, geological disasters, etc.) as well as the resource protection and planning and construction of the park, vigorously cultivate the life value of respecting science throughout society, and stimulate the interest of teenagers in scientific exploration.
