Zhijindong Cave Gloabl Geopark participated in the 8th UNESCO Global Geopark Management and Development Training Course

From October 10th to 15th, 2024, Zhijindong Cave Gloabl Geopark, led by Li Yi, the director of the Zhijindong Cave Administration, participated in the event hosted by the Global Geoparks Network (GGN) and the UNESCO Global Geoparks Secretariat. The 8th UNESCO Gloabl Geoparks Management and Development Training Course, hosted by China University of Geosciences (Beijing) and the Xiangxi UNESCO Gloabl Geopark.

    This training course, with the theme of "UNESCO Global Geoparks and Sustainable Development", is divided into indoor lectures, on-site learning and exchanges, and case analyses, etc. Invite the UNESCO Global Geoparks Council, the Executive Board of the Gloabl Geoparks Network, and renowned domestic experts in Global Geoparks to serve as lecturers to conduct training and discussions on the concepts, standards, applications, evaluations, and re-evaluations of Global Geoparks.

During the case analysis session, Zhijindong Cave Global Geopark delivered a special report titled "Problems and Solutions Faced in the Re-Evaluation of Zhijindong Cave Global Geopark", sharing its experience in rectifying during the re-evaluation.

 Representatives from Zhijindong Cave Global Geopark also held on-site discussions and exchanges with the lecturers and participants. The experts provided guidance for the park's rectification work.

On the fourth day of the class, October 13th, which coincided with the 35th "International Day for Disaster Reduction", Professor Seiya Nakata, the Chairperson of the UNESCO Global Geoparks Council and the Chairperson of the Gloabl Geoparks Network Advisory Board, delivered a special lecture on the theme of "Empowering the Younger Generation to Build a Resilient Future".图片5.jpg
