Diluvianism
Geological theory in early 18th century represented by Scheuchzer (1672-1733), a scholar from Switzerland, dilutial theorists thought that it was hard to explain the surface sediments like sands, gravels and clay widely distributed around European regions, especially huge erratic block and other related geological phenomenon by using the normal geological process like the advance and retreat of river and seawater, and so attributed that to the worldwide flooding.
