Law of Correlation of Facies

Walther, a geologist from Germany put forward the law of correlation of facies in 1893 and 1894, which is a guiding principle of stratigraphy: in certain sedimentary cycle, the same sedimentation series not only appear on the lateral profile but also the vertical profile.
