Law of Original Horizontality
It is a universal law of geology: hydrogenic sediments deposit by layers. The settled layer is horizontal or nearly horizontal during sediment; that is to say, they are parallel to or nearly parallel to the earth surface. This law is put forward by Nicolaus Steno in 1669 for the first time.
