September 15th Luo Weijun, deputy director of the State Key Laboratory of Environmental Geochemistry, Institute of Geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Cheng Anyun, among others, led a "Belt and Road" and Developing countries science and technology training course with the theme of "Karst Ecosystems and Sustainable Development", which included science and technology and education from 10 countries such as Slovakia, Romania, Vietnam, Indonesia, New Zealand, Egypt and Pakistan More than 20 people, including management personnel, conducted on-site investigations and exchanges at the Zhijindong Cave Global Geopark. This training course is carried out to support the implementation and advancement of the national "Belt and Road Initiative" and promote the construction of scientific and technological capabilities in the "Belt and Road Initiative" and developing countries.
This inspection mainly focused on the theme of "Karst Ecosystem and Sustainable Development", and conducted investigations and exchanges on the evolution of karst landforms, the formation and evolution of caves, and the protection of their landscapes in the Zhijindong Cave Global Geopark. The park management staff gave a detailed introduction to the discovery of Zhijin Cave and the construction and landscape protection of the geological park at the Zhijin Cave Geological Museum. After that, they went to the Underground Tiangong Park to conduct a detailed investigation and exchange on the karst landform, ecosystem, cave resource development and protection practices of the park.
The inspection and exchange of the Zhijindong Cave Global Geopark during this training course showcased China's successful experience in the development and protection of karst landforms and cave landscape resources to the trainees of the inspection team, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent promotion of related karst scientific issue research in Guizhou.
