From March 28th to 29th, 2022, Researcher Tan Ming, the deputy director of the Cave Professional Committee of the Geological Society of China, and Senior Engineer Zhou Wenlong, the deputy secretary-general, visited the Zhijindong Cave Global Geopark for an inspection and exchange.
During the visit, they toured the museum and conducted on-site investigations of the Zhijindong Cave, the Grand Canyon, and the sinkhole, among other scenic spots, to understand the development, protection, and management of geological relics in the geopark. After the inspection, an exchange symposium was held. Liu Zhirong, chief engineer of Guizhou Zhijindong Scenic Area Administration, Liu Haibo, General Manager of Guizhou Zhijindong Tourism Development Co., LTD., and Wang lingping, Deputy General Manager, attended and participated in the symposium.

At the meeting, both sides, guided by problems and demands, always adhered to the concept of "developing while protecting and protecting while developing". They focused on discussing practical issues faced by the Zhijindong Cave Gloabl Geopark, such as the prevention and control of cave lighting plants, risk monitoring and safety assessment of dangerous rocks, and monitoring of visitor capacity and environmental quality.
They also offered suggestions on how to enhance scientific research levels and expand popular science research and study Tours. Researcher Tan Ming proposed to give full play to the functional role of the Cave Professional Committee of the Geological Society of China, invite relevant experts in cave lighting plant control to provide guidance, and rely on the platform advantages of the Uranium Series Chronology Laboratory of the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences to carry out stalagmite chronology and paleoclimate research in Zhijindong Cave. Jointly with the Guizhou Provincial Institute of Mountain Resources, conduct research on the sedimentary morphology of stalagmites and expand the application of ground laser scanning results.
Both sides look forward to launching the plan within this year and jointly promoting the high-quality development of Zhijindong Cave Gloabl Geopark.
