In 2015, Zhijin Cave National Geopark successfully joined the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network. Zhijindong Cave features the largest and most well-developed karst landform that has been explored in China. The cave is filled with over forty types of deposits such as stalagmites, stone pillars, stone buds and bells and flags, and is known as the "Encyclopedia of Karst landforms". It has six world-class geological relics and 16 national-level geological relics. The "Flower of the Earth", the Silver rain tree, in the cave has formed approximately 150,000 years ago and is divided into three stages: tower-shaped stalagmites, pine-shaped stalagmites, and petal-shaped stalagmites. It is a rare palm-shaped stalagmite that is 17 meters tall and weighs 40 tons. With its 56-layer growth rings composed of crystalline calcite, it conveys the climate code of the Quaternary ice Age to humans and vividly depicts the precious archives of the Earth's evolutionary history.

In recent years, Zhijindong Cave Global Geopark has firmly established and practiced the concept that green mountains and clear waters are as valuable as mountains of gold and silver, adhered to the two bottom lines of ecology and development, properly handled the relationship between protection and development, and promoted the sustainable development of the park. To ensure the effective protection of geological relics, Zhijindong Cave Global Geopark has established a database for the protection of geological relics in the park, a three-dimensional scanning geographic information system for stalactites within the cave, and compiled a list of 141 geological relics for protection. China Ping An Property & Casualty Insurance Co., LTD. Guizhou Branch will jointly establish a "Geological Risk Early Warning Laboratory" with Zhijindong Cave Gloabl Geopark. Through technological means, it aims to make a leap from "post-disaster compensation" to "pre-disaster prevention", and build a safety barrier for natural treasures with financial wisdom, allowing the "Flower of the Earth", the Silver Rain Tree, to shine among the beautiful mountains and waters of Guizhou.
