On April 30, 2026, Zhijindong Cave Global Geopark welcomed a group of vigorous teenagers. Senior three graduates from Zhijin No.1 High School embarked on an educational hiking tour, stepping away from endless exam exercises and walking into this geological textbook hidden in the secluded karst wonderland.
The moment they set foot into Zhijindong Cave, the abstract concept of karst landforms in textbooks turned into tangible and stunning scenery.
From textual descriptions in books to real stalactites and stalagmites right before their eyes, and from the iconic Silver Rain Tree to Overlord Helmet, every landscape tells a story carved by time. The teenagers marveled at the uncanny craftsmanship of nature while following the guide to explore geological mysteries. The knowledge points that once only appeared on examination papers have now turned into vivid natural scenes.
During the two-hour cave hiking, weariness was completely dispelled by constant amazement all the way. Shocked by the hundreds-of-millions-year-old wonders of Zhijindong Cave, the students were immersed in admiration without feeling the length of the journey.
It is just like burning the midnight oil and persevering relentlessly on the road to the college entrance examination.
