From May 8 to 9, representatives from Zhijindong Cave UNESCO Global Geopark travelled to Quzhou City, Zhejiang Province for the inauguration of Changshan UNESCO Global Geopark. The official unveiling ceremony was held on the morning of May 8. More than 200 participants including CAS academicians, UNESCO Global Geopark specialists and geopark delegates from home and abroad gathered at the county Culture & Expo Center to witness the milestone event.

Following the unveiling, domestic and overseas experts conducted field inspections at Changshan Geopark Museum, the Global Boundary Stratotype Section and Point (GSSP, commonly known as Golden Spike) Reserve and other sites. They carried out in-depth investigations into core geoheritage resources, partner enterprises and popular science community development of the geopark.
